A Former UFC Star is Accused of Biting His Partner: What Really Happened?
This is the part most people miss: While the headlines might be shocking, understanding the full details of an alleged domestic incident involving ex-UFC fighter Jairzinho Rozenstruik is crucial. Rozenstruik, a name familiar to many in the heavyweight MMA world, has been taken into custody in Florida facing serious charges, including domestic violence.

Rozenstruik was arrested on January 19th by the Pembroke Pines Police Department. He was subsequently booked into the main jail and, in addition to the charges, was placed on an immigration hold that lasted for 48 hours, beginning on January 20th.
According to online court records, Rozenstruik is facing a third-degree felony for false imprisonment, with his bond set at $2,500. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for touch or strike/battery/domestic violence, with a bond of $1,000.
But here's where it gets controversial: The initial police report, obtained by MMA Fighting, indicates that officers responded to what was described as a "suspicious incident." Upon arrival and further investigation, they determined it to be a "domestic battery incident." Interestingly, police noted that Rozenstruik made "vague allegations" that his partner was pushing him during an argument. He reportedly told officers that they had "figured it out" and didn't require law enforcement intervention.
Rozenstruik's initial account suggested a disagreement where his partner pushed him with one arm, but he denied any physical contact. He was described as "uncooperative" and unwilling to provide more details, with his partner having already left the residence.
However, when police later made contact with Rozenstruik's partner, her account presented a different picture. She stated that the argument began while they were in a vehicle. She claimed that when she ignored Rozenstruik during the dispute, he allegedly slapped her hand, causing her cell phone to fall. When she retrieved it, he allegedly struck her hand again. As she attempted to leave the car, Rozenstruik is accused of grabbing her arm to prevent her departure.
In what she described as self-defense, the alleged victim stated she punched Rozenstruik in the head multiple times. The report notes that the argument continued inside the vehicle before Rozenstruik parked. He then allegedly attempted to kiss her, which she declined, reportedly calling him "a nasty beast."
This comment reportedly angered Rozenstruik, leading to the most serious allegation: he allegedly bit her right bicep against her will. The altercation continued, and when she again tried to exit the vehicle, he allegedly grabbed her arm once more to stop her.
She stated that she punched him again in self-defense, which caused him to release her arm. She then took her purse and left the vehicle.
This is the part most people miss: Police documented visible injuries on the alleged victim, including a bite mark on her right bicep, redness on both forearms, and a red scratch/bruise mark under her right eye. These injuries were photographed by the police.
During the investigation, Rozenstruik was reportedly "uncooperative," changing his story multiple times and withholding information. Police stated that "multiple attempts were needed for Jairzinho to give his account of the incident."
Based on the "totality of the circumstances," police established probable cause that Rozenstruik was the "primary aggressor" and committed the alleged crimes. He was subsequently arrested without incident.
Rozenstruik, 37 years old, had a significant career in the UFC, spending six years on the roster and consistently ranking among the top 10 heavyweights. He secured notable victories against fighters like Andrei Arlovski, Junior dos Santos, and Alistair Overeem. His UFC contract was released in 2025 after a 3-4 win-loss record, including a decision loss to Sergei Pavlovich in his final UFC bout. He later signed with Mike Perry's Dirty Boxing promotion, becoming their heavyweight champion in his second fight.
